2. Pick some topics in your niche (e.g. potty training dogs, teaching old dogs new tricks, etc) and write about them. Write many posts about one topic, or write a few posts about many topics, or both! Aim for an article at least once a week.

3. Publicize your blog and get some traffic: Yes, with any type of blog (Personal or Niche) you need to do some backlink building to get traffic and get search engines to love you.

With either blog model, you can make money from your blogs in various ways. If you have the traffic, the opportunities open up to you. You can monetize your blog with adspace, google adsense ads, and donations. You can also plug various affiliate products in your blog as well where you make a commission off of each sale. In a Personal Blog model, the affiliate product would be about that specific post. So if you post about a external hard drive you just purchased, include a link for it. In a Niche Blog model, people will even expect you to put links in to products related to that niche.
